Abstract

S Sektor pariwisata di Indonesia telah tumbuh dan berkembang menjadi suatu industri yang banyak menghasilkan devisa bagi negara. Seiring dengan program pemerintah Visit Indonesia pada tahun 2012, yaitu Visit Lombok dan Sumbawa 2012, pembangunan sarana dan pra-sarana, termasuk fasilitas penginapan menjadi penting, salah satunya adalah pembangunan hotel. Guna mendukung program tersebut di atas. Hotel dapat digunakan sebagai pembentuk citra atau image dari suatu daerah. Hotel dapat mewakili budaya tradisional, yang memiliki potensi untuk dapat menarik wisatawan ke suatu daerah. Tulisan ini membahas tentang proses desain hotel resort Ombak Sunset di terletak di pantai yang eksotis dan populer, yaitu Gili Trawangan, Lombok., dengan menerapkan kebudayaan Lombok ke dalam desain interior hotel, tanpa mengesampingkan fungsi utama hotel tersebut. Dengan mengekspos ciri kedaerahan dalam interior hotel, maka pengunjung akan dapat merasakan pengalaman baru, nuansa yang berbeda dari lingkungan asalnya. Konsep interior dari hotel resort yang dirancang adalah natural, dengan gaya yang modern etnik yang terinspirasi dari alam dan budaya Lombok. Terutama dengan keindahan alam Gili, membuat interior yang terasa menyatu dengan alam, sehingga pengunjung dapat menikmatinya dan dapat bersantai, berekreasi jiwa dan raga.

I Indonesia tourism sector has grown and developed into an industry that contributes great number of foreign exchange for the country. In line with the government program Visit Indonesia in 2012, a program called the Visit Lombok and Sumbawa 2012 needs support to provide proper infrastructure and accomodation facilities. One of crucial facilities is the availability of the good hotels. It is generally known that one of the hotel roles is to build positive image of its surrounding area. In addition, hotels can also represent local culture which probably has potential asset to attract tourists to visit the area nearby. By applying Lombok culture into the interior design of the hotel and without putting aside the main function of hotel, this paper discusses the design of the hotel resort Ombak Sunset located in an exotic and popular beach called Gili Trawangan, Lombok. It is expected by exposing the regional characteristics of the hotel interior the visitors will be able to feel a new experience of the nuance which is different from the origin. The concept of the interior of the hotel itself is a natural resort designed with a modern ethnic style inspired by nature and the culture of Lombok. The special natural beauty of Gili makes the interior became a harmony with nature therefore enables visitors can enjoy and relax their body and soul.
