L Latar Belakang: Kasus terjadinya relaps pasca perawatan ortodonti kerap dilaporkan dengan prevalensi yang cenderung tinggi. Metode retensi dengan retainer cekat umum digunakan untuk memperoleh stabilitas hasil perawatan ortodonti dalam jangka panjang. Tujuan: Untuk mengetahui efektivitas retainer cekat pasca perawatan ortodonti. Metode: Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan metode scoping review berdasarkan panduan PRISMA (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses) pada periode September 2022-Desember 2022. Penelusuran artikel pada database Google Scholar dan Pubmed disesuaikan dengan kriteria inklusi dan eksklusi, serta konsep PCC yang telah ditentukan. Hasil: Setelah menggunakan kata kunci dan terminologi Boolean yang sesuai, ditemukan 319 artikel pada database dan dilakukan seleksi lebih lanjut. Sejumlah 12 artikel memenuhi kriteria inklusi, dimana efektivitas retainer cekat diuraikan berdasarkan parameter klinis yang tercantum pada setiap artikel. Kesimpulan: Penggunaan retainer cekat efektif dalam mempertahankan stabilitas kesejajaran gigi anterior setelah perawatan ortodonti.
B Background: Cases of relapse after orthodontic treatment are often reported with a prevalence that tends to be high. The retention method using a fixed retainer is commonly used to obtain long-term stability of orthodontic treatment results. Aim: To determine the effectiveness of fixed retainers post orthodontic treatment. Method: This research was conducted using the scoping review method based on PRISMA (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses) guidelines in the period of September 2022-December 2022. Article researches were adjusted to the inclusion and exclusion criteria, as well as the established PCC concept using Google Scholar and PubMed databases. Result: After using the correct keywords and Boolean terminology, 319 articles were identified in the database and further selection was then made. A total of 12 articles met the inclusion criteria, in which the effectiveness of the fixed retainers was described based on the clinical parameters listed in each article. Conclusion: The use of fixed retainers is effective in maintaining the stability of anterior teeth alignment after orthodontic treatment.
