S Smoking has been a global health problem throughout the world. Smoking habits in college is also more prevalent, both in medical faculty and other faculties. Smoking is quite closely related to lung function, one of which is the peak expiratory flow rate (PEFR), it is necessary to study in order to know the comparison results of PEFR between students-smokers and nonsmokers. The research was using the analytic study with a cross-sectional design that involving 104 students of 2012 batch of Medical Faculty at Trisakti University. The data were collected by filling the questionnaires which included the smoking status, gender and level of physical activity, as well as PEFR measurement tool that uses a peak flow meter. The data analysis was using SPSS for Windows version 21 and a 0.05 significance level. From the analysis of the relation between smokers and peak expiratory flow results obtained by the respondents who were not smokers and did not degrade the results in PEFR were 21 people (20.2%), and which degrade the results in PEFR were 11 people (10,6%). While the light smoker respondent did not degrade the results in PEFR were 32 people (30.8%), and which degrade the results in PEFR were 40 people (38,5%). Then the p value = 0.046 which is worth less than 0.05. This research shows that smoker-students will degrade the results in PEFR compared with non-smoker students.
