R RM oilfield located on Bunyu Island, in North Borneo, Indonesia. There are several exploration wells undertaken by PT Pertamina EP Asset 5, among of those exploration well at the IRM oilfield were drilled by PT Pertamina EP Asset 5, there were GST-1, GST-2 and GST-3. The GST-1 well is located in the Central part of Bunyu island, GST-2 well is located in the NorthWest part of Bunyu island and GST-3 well is located in the SouthEast part of Bunyu island. The operation problems that are commonly encountered is kick during drilling in exploration wells. That problem also occured at GST-1, GST-2 and GST-3 well in IRM field. This kick problem caused by an influx of formation fluid into the bore hole, and specially when penetrating into overpressure zone. Overpressure zone is a condition where the gradient of the formation pressure is above of the normal formation pressure gradient, which cause the formation pressure at that zone became very high and if not properly handled it will create the blow out. Determination of overpressure zone can be identified with several methods. In this final assignment the corelation between those three wells had been done based on well logging data that consist of Neutron Porosity Log, Sonic Log, Resistivity Log and Density Log and actual driliing data such as “D-Exponent”, Modified “D-Exponet” and mud weight analysis Formation pressure that equivalent with mud weight at top overpressure zone on GST-1 well in amount of 10,13 ppg while the original mud weight that be used only 9,75 ppg. Therefore mud weight should be increased by behold the safety factor in amount of 1,2 ppg from formation pressure, so that recommended mud weight is 11,33 ppg Formation pressure that equivalent with mud weight at top overpressure zone on GST-2 well in amount of 12,2 ppg while the original mud weight that be used only 11 ppg. Therefore mud weight should be increased by behold the safety factor in amount of 1,2 ppg from formation pressure, so that recommended mud weight is 13,4 ppg Formation pressure that equivalent with mud weight at top overpressure zone on GST-3 well in amount of 10,43 ppg while the original mud weight that be used only 10,1 ppg. Therefore mud weight should be increased by behold the safety factor in amount of 1,2 ppg from formation pressure, so that recommended mud weight is 11,63 ppg. By knowing the depth zone of overpressure, then kick problem can be prevented as early as possible by conditioning the optimum mud weight prior to penetrate into high formation pressure zone, at least 20 meters above of top overpressure zone.
