Berbagai metoda deteksi penyebaran Covid-19 telah digunakan oleh Indonesia, diantaranya Rapid Test (antibody based detection), TCM (Test Cepat Molekular), dan deteksi berbasis PCR (polymerase chain reaction) yang sepenuhnya bergantung pada hasil sequencing whole genome serta memerlukan waktu cukup panjang, biaya dan padat karya untuk mendapatkan sekuens dari banyak jenis virus.
